Classes: Technology of Biology, Criminalistics, Honors Biology, and Regular Biology
Justin Cecil
Mr. Cecil received his bachelor of science in Biological Sciences at UC Davis while minoring in Anthropology. He is the lead advisor of the Biotech Academy and oversees all events coordinated by Biotech officers. He's known for creating a fun and welcoming classroom environment where students feel comfortable learning and asking questions. His humor and unpredictable energy make his classes memorable, while his strong knowledge helps students stay engaged in complex topics. He brings both personality and expertise to everything he teaches.

Classes: Biotech II, General Science, and Chemistry
Jason Brennan
Mr. Brennan attended the University of Hawaii for his undergraduate studies, majoring in biology. He later moved to the states and got his masters in environmental horticulture at UC Davis. Mr. Brennan was chosen to teach for the Biotech Academy due to our prior need for someone with a strong, extensive plant background— crucial to our curriculum, as agriculture is a huge part of this field of study.

Classes: Biology of the Living Earth and Microbiology Honors
Tabitha Lai
Ms. Lai received her bachelors of science in technology with an emphasis in animals and double minor in psychology and education at UC Davis. Afterwards, she attended Sac State for teaching credentials. She has always been open about her journey to a career in education, and because of that, she inspires her students to pursue what they truly love.

Classes: Ecology, Biology, and Molecular Biotechnology Honors
Rachel Wagner
Ms. Wagner completed her undergraduate degree at Harding University on a scholarship, received her Masters from Colorado State University, and majored in Biology with teaching credentials. It seems she knew early on that fostering young minds was her calling! With a background in teaching AP Biology, she figured applying to be a part of the Biotech academy would fulfill her passions as a science teacher.
