Welcome to Our Biotech Academy!
Established in 1997, the Biotechnology program is a science-based academy that allows students to develop their interests in the world of science and cultivate what scientific aspirations they hold and hope to achieve. Sheldon High School's Biotech Academy prepares and informs students of the post-secondary school and career options in the ever-growing realm of biological sciences. Throughout their high school career, Biotech students go through four main courses tailored to assist them in expanding their knowledge: The Technology of Biology, The Science and Ethics of Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology. Students are exposed to and have direct contact with various local and regional industries as well as get rare hands on experiences. The Biotechnology program is an influential and powerful source of students who are interested in the ongoing world of science.

Our Students
Students in Biotech come from all different cultures and backgrounds. The barriers of religion and ethnicity are eliminated when all students can come together and bond over the amazing world of science and discovery. Sheldon High School is one of the most diverse schools in the nation, and our academy reflects that. We hope to inspire up-and-coming scientists at an early age to never give up and to continually pursue their dreams.
